Ruthar is a Highprince of Alethkar.[1] His princedom is bordered to the north by that of Highprince Vamah, to the east by that of Highprince Dalinar, and to the south by the Sunmaker Mountains.
As a member of Gavilar's army of twenty-nine years ago, in a battle against Kalanor's army, Ruthar brought down Gallam, winning both Plate and Blade for his son.[2]
Personality[]
He is a brutal and cruel man who regularly beats his children.[3]
History[]
During the war in Emul, Ruthar arrives there with Dalinar but is not allowed to be engaged in battle panning. He is indignant to see Jasnah giving Mink advice regarding battle planning because traditionally, war was men's art. Provoked by Wit, he engages in battle with Jasnah and she stabbes him with Wit's sword. Renarin heals him. Jasnah forfeits him of his title, passing it to his elder son.[3]
