Melu was one of Eshonai's stormforms. Eshonai directed her to the following:

Melu passed the word, sending ranks out to obey.[1]
When Eshonai asked her about the rest of the Five, Melu told her that they agreed, though some were reluctant.[1]
Later, Melu is one of nine that had been selected from among the two thousand listener survivors, Venli included, to embrace the power of the Everstorm.[2]
After doing so, Melu's form is similar to that of Demid and she speaks in a language that she and Demid share, but that Venli doesn't understand.[2]
When he calls her Aharat and asks if that's her, Melu replies yes and that what she feels is good.[2]
