Mateform is used for reproductive purposes. A few Parshendi (i.e., listeners) maintain mateform constantly, although most enter it only briefly in order to reproduce with a partner. Most couples enter the form and sequester themselves away from others for a year, then leave the form immediately after the female gives birth. If these partners later enter warform, they become a warpair.[citation needed]
Nevertheless, it is a distracting form which makes productive work difficult. Nothing is stopping other forms from reproducing; mateform is merely a speciality.

Appearance[]
Parshendi females usually have small breasts, except in mateform.[2]
Personality[]
Parshendi in mateform have a hard time concentrating on anything productive though they seem to be more able to understand abstract concepts, as compared to Parshendi in warform.[2]
Transformation Process[]
The processes for this form requires bonding to a lifespren.[3] Transformation happens during a highstorm.[4]
