Mart is a former member of Bridge Four and currently a member of the King's Guard. He was made such when Dalinar traded his Shardblade, Oathbringer, to Sadeas for his bridgemen after Sadeas betrayed him on the Shattered Plains.[1]
He, along with his brother, Eth, is instructed by Kaladin to stay at Elhokar's side, no matter what, while the palace is evacuated due to imminent threat at the Pinnacle.[2]
After the clash at the Pinnacle between Kaladin, Dalinar and Adolin with Szeth, Mart is the member of the King's Guard who confronts the unknown figure that is Kaladin in front of King Elhokar's chambers, demanding of Kaladin that he identify himself.[3]
When Szeth lastly attacks Dalinar, Mart is killed, his eyes burned out. Eth clutches his brother's body, weeping.[4]
