Leyten is a bridgeman in Bridge Four. He nearly died during one of the bridge runs, but was treated and saved by Kaladin.[1]

He is described as a tall, stout man who is thick-bodied.[1][2]
Characteristics[]
Rock thinks that Leyten is a fine man, and one who can talk as loudly as himself sometimes. He could hear him two plateaus away, which Rock likes.[2]
History[]
Before becoming a bridgeman, Leyten was an apprentice armorsmith who was sent to the bridges after being used as a scapegoat by his master when a piece of armor failed while being worn by a lighteyes, Leyten was convinced his old master kept an extra apprentice on hand to be used for just such a purpose.[3]
During his tenure as a member of Bridge Four, he used his abilities to craft armor from Parshendi carapace to help better protect the bridge crew.[3]
He trains with Natam and some of the other men, and is willing to train Shen in the use of a spear.[4]
Leyten is just one of the members of Bridge Four who encounters Re-Shephir in the bowels of Urithiru.[5] He remains shaken by the experience with the Unmade.[2]
When Rock later asks the bridgemen who came to him stating that they no longer felt they fit in with Bridge Four, Leyten says he still has nightmares about what they saw in the bowels of Urithiru.[6]
