A hasper is a small, two-shelled creature that proliferates during the Weeping. Collectively, they cluster in groups, cling to stone, and seem to grow out of nowhere, much like their cousins, tiny snails.
Stranna haspers are steamed in the shell and eaten.
They have pearly shells that open and close slowly when they breathe. This gives them the appearance of tiny mouths, silently speaking in rhythm with one another.
