Geranid is a scientist and ardent living with her husband, Ashir, " ... on a tiny Reshi island, technically sent to provide for the religious needs of any Vorin visitors." However, according to her husband, living there was a way of getting away and focusing on both Geranid's and Ashir's own experiments.
Geranid discovers that when she measures spren, they vary in size, luminosity, and shape. But when she makes a notation they immediately freeze in their current state.

Geranid is skeptical of her husband's efforts with regard to foods that might please her, yet she indulges him nevertheless. She often finds his efforts terrible.
Q. Belief has had a lot to do with the cosmere. (For example, in Warbreaker, the appearances of the Returned had a lot to do with belief.) Will belief have a big part to play in The Stormlight Archive?
