Dullform is an older form which was rarely used after the discovery of the newer forms. Those Parshendi (i.e., listeners) in dullform are not very intelligent.[1] It is an inferior version of mateform. If children don’t adopt a form upon puberty in their seventh or eighth year, they are trapped in dullform[2]

Dullform dread, with the mind most lost.
The lowest, and the one not bright.
To find this form, one need banish the cost.
It finds you and brings you to blight.

–From the Listener Song of Listing, final stanza[3]

According to Eshonai, dullform was a relic of the past.[4]

Appearance[]

This form is similar to the parshmen, or slaveform Parshendi (i.e., they have black skin mottled with red tones, they are not of a muscular build and appear almost completely mute).[5] However, dullform Parshendi are taller than slaveforms.[1]

Personality[]

Dullform Parshendi are more intelligent than slaveforms, though the form is still greatly limited. The ability to think complex thoughts is challenging in this form. However, there are those Parshendi who've chosen dullform because they believe the humans won't kill them when they come to Narak.[1]

Characteristics[]

Having once assumed dullform, Eshonai remembers that trying to force concepts through her brain had been like trying to think rationally while in a dream.[1]

Dullform is a difficult form to suffer, one that only a few ever experience for longer than a stormpause or so.[1]

Transformation Process[]

Bonding with the wrong spren can cause a Parshendi to suffer dullform.[1]
