The Beggars' Feast is an Alethi tradition. In a room at the King's palace, some of the poorest men and women in Alethkar are given a feast complementing that of the King and his guests occurring concurrently.[1]

Szeth passed this room by on the night he assassinated King Gavilar, taking notice of a drunken man with a long gray and black beard slumped in the doorway, smiling foolishly.[1] Later, Queen Aesudan Kholin - in her time as regent during the War of Reckoning - cancelled the event altogether.[2]
