What would happen if somebody hit a Spren with a Shardblade? I don't know if there is an answer yet, but if there is it isn't in either the shardblade or Spren page. I think that there could be 4 different results that all make some sort of sense. The least likely one would be that it would destroy/kill the spren. I think this is highly unlikely, as Pattern told Shallan that spren don't really die. I don't know what book this was in. The next least likely one is that it would go through the spren without hurting it, like if you swung a sword through mist. This one seemed most likely to me at the time before I started looking in to this, but I learned that some spren, like the unmade, have a physical form. Because of this I can assume that this would not be the outcome. The 2nd most likely one is that it would "Kill" the spren, or in other words, make it a mindless spren like the ones with broken oaths. The last, and what I think would be the most likely outcome, is that the shardblade would bounce off. This sounds dumb, but I have a reason. The closest thing to an answer I found well searching the wiki was that a Spren in Shardblade form can deflect a shardblade, this paired with the fact that it has been confirmed that large gathering of investure can deflect the blades. Spren are made out of investure, as they are the remnants of adonlansiam and it's shards. Sorry if I accidentally broke any rules, this is my first post on Fandom and I am just wondering if this has been answered.

@May-the-Ranger! you explained it fine, that does make a lot of sense. That could be what happened in the book, because while Syl does say the spren is dead after it is stabbed, she also says she was dead when kaladin left her.
I have finished through book four, and am beginning a reread, and my favorite character is Kaladin.
I just realized it would probably not actually kill the spren, because I saw a video describing the three realms. There is the Physical, Cognitive (Shadesmar) and the last one. Shardblades exist in Physical and Cognitive, as they cut both objects and souls. Pattern said that it is hard to kill a spren because you would need to destroy what it is a spren of. This lines up with what the last realm is, what the object is. For example, a beanbag chair might appear as a chair, because that is what it is. Shardblades don't cut in this realm, so I can conclude that it wouldn't Kill the spren, I doubt it would go through like mist, because Spren exist in all three realms including Physical and Shadesmar, plus the part about the unmade. It might apply only to different types of spren though. I think the most likely are it bouncing off or "killing" the Spren.
